MegaCryptoPolis have just mailed all players about some new updates coming at the end of March 2020. They have also given new users the opportunity to get a free Citizen for completing the onboarding tutorial as part of this launch.

It is all linked to MCP’s launch on the Tron BlockChain. This will take place on March 25th 2020. It isn’t that clear to me how this will integrate with the existing game as there will be a brand new map for Tron, although it appears as though you can trade between the two maps and obviously you can purchase assets in either one. For the new Tron map you will need a Tron wallet to play, whereas the current Ethereum backed map uses Metamask. I currently don’t own any Tron and don’t have a Tron wallet – I’ll explore it more and write a follow up after the launch date.

I’m a little skeptical about the new ‘enhancements’ from MCP and launch on the Tron Blockchain. If it brings more players and activity to the game, then great, but it feels a bit like they’re coming up with new reasons for existing players to purchase more stuff and as yet I’ve not seen too much evidence that it is possible to make any meaningful revenue in the game. I appreciate it might take a while to start seeing revenue from the game but I’d advise against getting involved if you think you can make a quick buck.
