I won’t be announcing every new citizen but this is only my second offspring, so I’m still excited when they arrive. At 7.33 AM Elaine Terry was born. If you’d like to send gifts please visit me here at the MegaCryptoPolis. Here I’m going to look a the cost and potential benefits of new Citizens in MCP.

Cost: The production cost, as the MCP romantically refers to procreation, is 0.01344 ETH. In addition, you need to have 1500 Energy units and 150 Water units. These can be purchased from the market and vary in cost but mine cost around 0.005 ETH for the units needed to produce the new citizen. This gives a total cost of 0.01844. There are small transaction fees not included here but they will add up over time – the last transaction fee was 0.000071873 ETH, which is around $0.02, so not significant but not free.
Value: Is hard to gauge the value at this point. I’ve seen low skill category B citizens selling for as little as 0.02 ETH and highly skilled cat B citizens on for sale at 0.7 ETH. Based on the skill set of the citizen I’ve produced I would put them on the market for around 0.05 ETH . My strategy at the moment though, is to accumulate assets rather than sell them off, so I’m going to get my team contributing in the properties I own. I need at least 20 people to run all my properties and with my latest arrival I’m only on 5 citizens. I’ll try to track their earnings as I go forward, if there are any to track that is.
As an aside, if you were looking to buy yourself a load of highly skilled Citizens, Category A citizens can get expensive. The most expensive citizen available to buy on the secondary right now is an astronaut for 17.91 ETH, which on today’s exchange rate would be around $4,500. An astronaut has full 10s in all categories but whether their earning potential can justify such a hearty price tag remains to be seen.
